END-OF-THE-SUMMER VISUAL CANDY / Day 4

Peeps,

Last night's sudden downpour certainly elicited sighs and groans from many in evening dress who ducked for cover under store-front canopies, yet for others it signaled the end to our all-too-long drought which seemed to stretch endlessly through the month of August.  Just a day before I noted that once vigorous sunflowers stood listlessly by the road-side, and swaths of cone-flowers and Queen Anne's lace appeared parched and forlorn. Today, almost magically, it seemed that a new lease on beauty had been granted.  Sufficient praise, or thanks, cannot be offered to the heavens in gratitude for the gift of rain, which for all creation, is the gift of life.

Sincerely,
Shane
