COLOR SPLENDOR / Day 1 -- ORANGE

Peeps,

Nothing comes close to the joy of unwrapping the wrapper enclosing the latest design magazine.  Whether or not it is pure escapism, or fantasies best appreciated while laying in bed and just before sleep; or dreams made real and presented in lay-outs so seductive (and illuminating) that we aspire/plan/take risk, and then gradually we too create an individual dream-scape (all within our own four walls).  Whatever the purpose, the thrill of new visual delights cannot be denied, and lest we chafe incessantly, one should dive into this world of beauty without further delay, for who knows what tomorrow may bring.

Tomorrow, political blogger Lowell Feld stated earlier this morning, will decide for whom beautiful homes and gardens will remain tantalizingly out of reach, a distant memory.  I agree wholeheartedly, for as we all know, many persons have had to forfeit parts of the American Dream as banks and mortgage companies recoup losses.  Developers and town-planners have had to be much more cautious as coffers shrink and potential buyers stall on leasing or purchasing real estate.  Whether blue or red (or purple) is your color/party of choice, we can all agree that the color orange has the ability to excite, to inspire, to produce awe and wonder.  Some men reach for a red tie when dressing in order to convey power; I instead reach for orange for it makes me feel fearless, and ready to take risks. Emboldened, I walk with the sun, towards the sun . . .

I admit that I love design blogs, especially their easy availability to my desk-top computer, and yet I dutifully (and happily) renew my magazine subscriptions each year.  I know that editors, writers, photographers, research staff and countless others depend on readers such as ourselves to keep the printers rolling, and their livelihoods intact.  They offer us hope and joy; with us they share their passions, as well as images of beauty and articles of note, intimate passages--all which truly enrich our lives.

Please enjoy today's visual treat, and thanks for being a loyal blog reader.

Sincerely,
Shane

PS:  Hit the voting booths tomorrow, and determine your future!!
